Skilled Migrant Category remuneration thresholds increased

The remuneration thresholds introduced to the Skilled Migrant and Essential Skills policies in August last year were reviewed in November and will increase from Monday 15 January 2018. If you are planning to submit an Expression of Interest for the Skilled Migrant Category on or after 15 January, you will need to be earning $24.29 per hour (or the equivalent annual salary) if you are employed in an occupation which is Level 1, 2 or 3 in the ANZSCO, or $36.44 per hour (or the equivalent annual salary) if you are employed in an occupation with is Level 4 or 5 in the ANZSCO.
The thresholds for Essential Skills work visa applicants have increased to $20.65 per hour (or the equivalent annual salary) for ANZSCO Level 1, 2 and 3 occupations, and $36.44 per hour (or the equivalent annual salary) for ANZSCO Level 4 and 5 occupations.
